WhatsApp Image 2025-02-28 at 10.26.31_ca18360e.jpg

Do your research!

Your wedding makeup should reflect your style and vision.

Beauty is personal, and my goal is to create a look that feels uniquely you.

Start by browsing my web and saving bridal looks that inspire you. Pinterest can also be a great source of ideas.

It helps to share details like your dress, wedding theme, color palette, floral arrangements, and bridal party attire.

This gives me a better understanding of your style and helps make the trial seamless.

Arriving prepared ensures a smooth process and guarantees you leave excited and confident for your big day

Be realistic!

when using a resource like Pinterest the images are not always as they seem, and they are often filtered or edited.

Also look at inspiration of people that resemble you in terms of skin tone, eye shape, hair colour and age range etc. if you choose an image of a person with large rounded eyes and you have hooded eyes, the finished look will not look the same and your expectation won't be met.

Coming with an open mind is essential and taking my feedback and advice especially if I suggest something that may look more flattering on you.

Clean skin and
no makeup

Come to the trial with clean, cleansed skin and makeup free and wearing white.

I know there is a temptation to come to the trial wearing makeup to show me how you like it, but I would sooner see photos of you wearing makeup for special occasions than you actually wearing any. If you can not leave the house bare faced then a slick of mascara and lipstick should be ok.

Basically you are about to have full on makeup applied to your face and what you wear to trial might make it hard to visualise how you will look on the day. So by wearing white helps you see the makeup against a white top which will no doubt be similar in tone to what you will wear.

Also it helps me to detect the undertone of your skin if you wear white, because the colour you wear can often reflect on the face and distort your undertone.

I am all for support from friends and family in the planning process however

I would advise not bringing a massive entourage to the trial. Tons of opinions and tastes can often take you away from the original vision you had in the first place,

I am happy to bolt on a trial to yours for one extra person and it is customary for many brides to ask for a trial for their Mum.

Skincare Prep: The Ultimate Glow

Achieving glowing skin for your wedding day starts with a consistent skincare routine. To ensure flawless skin, avoid experimenting with new treatments too close to the wedding. Instead, consult your dermatologist or esthetician to create a custom plan for your skin type and timeline.

A Month Before the Wedding:

Focus on cleansing, exfoliating, and hydrating your skin. Adding LED light therapy to your routine a few times a week will help boost collagen and keep your complexion radiant. Incorporate retinol into your skincare regimen, but introduce it slowly to avoid irritation.

A Week Before the Wedding:

Treat yourself to a sculpting facial massage, and prioritise exfoliation to ensure smooth, glowing skin. Get plenty of sleep to help your skin look its best.

The Day Before the Wedding:

Keep your skincare simple to avoid last-minute breakouts. Stick to gentle hydration and firming treatments to enhance your skin’s natural radiance. Light therapy and hydrating masks will give your complexion an extra glow.

Hairstyling: Picture-Perfect Hair

Your wedding hairstyle should enhance your natural beauty and complement your dress, but the key to perfect hair is starting your hair care routine early.

A Month Before the Wedding:

Get a trim or haircut about a month before your wedding. This will ensure that your hair is in top condition without being too freshly cut. Begin using treatments like deep conditioners and hair masks tailored to your hair type.

A Week Before the Wedding:

Stick to regular hair products to avoid adverse reactions. Depending on your hair type, washing it a day or two before the wedding works best for holding a style.

The Day Before the Wedding:

Shampooing your hair the night or day before the wedding will ensure your hair is clean and free of oil or build up. If your hair is very oily, you can wait until the morning of, to complete this step. Your hair MUST be blow dried after shampooing. This will help smooth your hair and add shine. It will also help reduce frizz and create some natural volume in the hair.

BLOWDRY YOUR HAIR THE NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING:

  • Makeup: Flawless for Photos
Wedding makeup should enhance your natural features while staying flawless throughout the day. Planning is critical to achieving this balance.

  • Six Months Before the Wedding:
Start planning your bridal makeup look and experimenting with products. Avoid any drastic changes close to the wedding, and stick to what you know works for your skin.

  • A Week Before the Wedding:
Stick to your trusted skincare routine, and avoid trying new treatments that could cause breakouts or irritation.

  • Never Apply Fake Tan to Your Face - and again NEVER APPLY FAKE TAN TO YOUR FACE...
one more time DO NOT APPLY FAKE TAN TO YOUR FACE One of the biggest mistakes you can make is applying fake tan to your face. Never, ever, ever do this. Fake tan contains an ingredient called DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), which is what activates the tanning process. While DHA gives your skin a bronzed appearance, it is also extremely drying. If applied to your face, especially if you have oily or textured skin, it will cling to dry patches and emphasise pores, creating an uneven and unnatural finish.

No matter your wedding day beauty vision, starting early and sticking to a consistent routine is critical. These tips will help ensure you look and feel your best as you walk down the aisle.
